Welcome to the Kominik Siberian Huskies Website
We have tried to include information about our breed that will be helpful to the novice owner or those individuals wanting to add a Siberian Husky to their lives. We have also showcased some of our dogs from the past and present. Please take a moment to read the So You Want a Siberian Husky? article, by clicking on the "more" button located at the far right of the menu bar above.
Kominik Siberian Huskies is a small, and successful kennel located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our involvement with Siberians began in 1991, when I acquired my first show dog, a female I named "Ooma", from Sandy Porter-Gonyea of Skrimshaw Siberians, in New York. "Ooma" went on to become an accomplished sled dog, American and Canadian Champion, Breed winner, and the start of Kominik.
The dogs who have come out of this kennel have exceled on the trail, and in the conformation show ring. Kominik Siberians have successfully competed in harness, and have also gone on to become American and Canadian Champions who have been Group winners and placers, as well as Specialty winners and Award of Merit recipients. It should also be noted that above all else, our dogs are our beloved companions and members of our family.
We are proud to be a responsible breeder, and member of the Siberian Husky Club of America, Puget Sound Siberian Husky Club, and Charter member of the Mount Rainier Working Dog Club. All dogs in our breeding program are tested and certified free from genetic hip or eye disease, by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), and Canine Eye Registry Foundation (CERF). We breed on a very limited basis, and our goal is to produce healthy, genetically disease free, temperamentally sound Siberians, who meet the Breed Standard as closely as possible, and embody the proper proportions that enable them to work effectively in harness.
Feel free to contact us with any questions, or for referrals to responsible breeders, and enjoy your visit!
